Isaac Arguetty was born in Bulgaria and raised and educated in Israel, where he began his business career acting as regional buying agent for U.S and Canadian retailers (R.H. Macy’s, The May Company and Eaton's).
In 1981, he moved to the U.S., where he co-founded Jan Bell Marketing, Inc. - a turnkey operator of in-house jewelry concessions located in all U.S. wholesale clubs. (Price Co, Costco and Sam's). The company's growth and success led to the initial public offering of its shares on The American Stock Exchange in 1987. In 1990, Mr. Arguetty relinquished all operating responsibilities in the company and moved to London, where he presided over a portfolio of direct equity investments in banking (Euro-Trade Bank) and international real estate. In 1996, Mr. Arguetty returned to Jan Bell as Chairman and CEO until his retirement from the company in 2002. Mr. Arguetty has a law degree from The University of Tel Aviv.
Mr. Arguetty presently operates a private equity firm engaged in originationg and structuring investment opportunities in both the real estate industry and corporate arena. (See website: www.arguettycapital.com)
